Hello folks, - flat out having fun but here's a few photos to show what we've been up to. Started our visit to Dubai with a night out to a Arabian show and meal way out in the desert.
A display of fruits on the way into the restaurant
A Taureno dancer (Spinning dancer)
Here we are in Mall of Emirates - a huge indoor ski slope - kind of strange when it was 43oC outside!!
The Jumeirah mosque in Dubai
Inside the Mercato Mall - looks like a European city
The Dubai skyline - the haze is caused by the amount of sand floating around in the air
A window in the Gold souk - so so ornate - 24K so very very yellow - I actually don't like it
Then we visited the Spice Souk
Waiting to cross over the river on an abra (boat)
This office building is known as the 'Coin'
The Grand Mosque in Dubai
To visit the mosque you need to wear an abaya (the robe) and sheila (pronounced shayla) worn over your head
Me in front of the mosque
We did a bit of posing
Sister Act!!
Beautiful chandelier
Another magnificent chandelier
A horse decorating the entrance to the resort where Tam and Shaz stayed. Tam had arranged a night in a five star resort as a special treat for her Mum. So we all went there in the afternoon - chilled out for a while, then went out for dinner then after dinner I caught a taxi back to Tam's place and they had some mother/daughter time. The next morning I caught a taxi back into town and met up with Peter and Jill who we had met last year on our trip to Central Europe.
Posing before we went out for dinner.
We went out to dinner from the resort on an abra

The abra driver/captain took this picture of the three of us
Right folks - need to go now - it's our last night in Dubai and we're off to Rome in the morning. Will get back to you all from there.
Love Z xx
