Going up? No definitely not!

Well I took the advice given and bought a new set of scales – aren’t they pretty. But they do have a bit of a bite!. I’ll explain…..when I first started back with Weightwatchers in 2002 I had a set of scales which started to be a bit hit or miss so I bought a new set – (the present demon scales!) – these new ones weighed me 4kgs heavier than the old ones used to so I had an overnight ‘gain’ but just lived with it . Well guess what - these pretty new scales weigh me another 1.5kgs heavier then the demon ones so I’ve had a total gain of 5.5kgs and all I’ve done is update my scales!!! In the words of the prophet – WTF!! Anyway the important thing is that they either stay the same or keep going down – depending on where I’m at. Right now I just need them to keep going down and they (the demon ones) are down 1.4kgs from where the demons had me last Monday. Realistically I think I’ve lost about 1kg over two weeks – and that’s how my clothes feel. And from now on I'll use the pretty ones - I also weighed in on them this morning.

I’ve had a much better week – been eating well, only a couple of wines on the weekend and getting in some serious walking – and feeling much better for it!

Not a lot else happening to write about – still hugely busy at work, study and planning the renovations for downstairs and of course anticipating the Vietnam trip. Off to the hairdressers again tonight - had a cut and colour and foils last Thursday but need a bodywave to give it a bit of oomph - flat as a pancake otherwise. It's not growing the way it should - tends to get to a certain length then break so we've revisited the plan and done a bit of layering to see if that helps. I might add a pic when I come home tonight.

Posted by PicasaAnd here I am - quite a cheeky look really!

Oh - and I got fed up with the look of my blog and have had a bit of a change - can't be staying the same too long - might get boring!

Onwards and downwards possums!

Quickie

Well contrary to expectations I don't have big things to report this week. Despite trying really quite hard my weight actually shot up 1.4kgs between Sunday morning and Monday morning so kind of strange things happening. I'd a kind of pretend TOM (first for over 7 months) for a couple of days so guessing that played havoc with my fluid levels. Anyway since Monday morning I have been so good and so focussed it would probably make you vomit and it looks like the scales are finally responding. Got back into some serious walking again this week and have managed to get out the last three nights - and don't I feel so much better! My leg feels good most of the time - just a little tender spot that decides to ache every now and again. I put some new 'walking' songs on my MP3 and they make me really pound the pavement. Not much other news this week - spent a lot of the weekend doing my Dip. Business assignment for Module 2 - have got most of it finished - just the 10 minute presentation I have to do on review day left to do. Today I had my coaching session and had one part of the assignment to do with our coach - role playing a counselling session with a poor performing team member and then assigning a complex task to a team member. It went really well I'm pleased to say. Spoke to No 2 son who is in Rio de Janeiro at present - he's having a wonderful time and really enjoying his time there. No 1 son is changing roles at work and in preparation for this is attending a 5 day course at one of our sister smelters in Tasmania - should have told him to look you up Wanna and Suzy! Counting down weeks till we go to Vietnam - only just over 5 so need to maintain the focus I've found this week. That's it for me this week and I'm planning on postponing this week's high expectations to next week - so will report big things then!!! Have a great week chickies! Love Z xx

Big Spender

Yes I've been on a bit of a spending spree this past week. It started on Wednesday last week when I took delivery of my new car - see below. I lease my car through our company salary packaging scheme and the lease for my previous car was up this month so I decided to replace it with another new one. So here we have the latest model Rav4 - I loved my last one. This one is fantastic too - but much bigger - they've increased the overall size by 20 per cent and it's gone from being a couple car to being a real family car - not that I need one of them but it is good when friends and family come to stay or when my grandsons are here. Bloss used to refer to my last Rav as 'a good little jigger' so it was commonly referred to as 'the jigger'. I think since this one is a bit bigger it might become 'the jogger'.

Here she is - The Jogger

So on Saturday Shaz and I headed off to Rockhampton to give the new car a bit of a run. A friend of ours has a shop there which has all sorts of wonderful homewares, but for a whole swag of reasons the business will be closing down shortly so she arranged for us to get a brilliant discount on anything we were interested in. Well I mean I couldn't afford not to- could I????

This painting is approximately 4ft tall by 3ft wide (not very good at thinking metric) and up inside the triangular vase shape at the bottom is a light. It is absoutely awesome and will look superb in our entrance hall - especially once we get all the new tiles laid. Some of you may remember that I bought a painting in Hong Kong last year and have it in the entry hall - but it isn't really big enough or dramatic enough to make an impact. But this little baby certainly will. I'll post another picture once I finally get it up on the wall but won't do that till after the tiling is done. Think I might have mentioned in a previous post that we'd had a flood downstairs but we were planning to tile that area anyway. After a bit of faffing around we got a store credit from the insurance company as they were going to replace the carpet. Instead we've chosen terracotta tiles and are doing the downstairs bathroom, the games room, entrance hall and the laundry. I've ordered the tiles, booked the tiler and hopefully it will start in about 3 weeks time. Have also had a quote for new vertical blinds for that room too.

I just loved this wall sculpture and the plan is for it to go up in the downstairs room once all the renovations are complete. It's a reasonable size too - about 18 ins by 3ft.

Then I saw this little tile painting which I thought would be just right for a corner in the kitchen.

I've been pretty half arsed on the eating/drinking for the past couple of weeks - four great days then three pretty ordinary days. Not too bad on the food front but having a few wines of an evening on the weekends. So this has meant absolutely no progress on the weightloss front. It's starting to get to me - I still weigh the same as I did when I got back from UK in January - which is about 4/5 kgs heavier than when I was feeling quite sylph like when we went to Hong Kong. I've only got 6 weeks till we leave for Vietnam so I'm going to really try to get focussed and shed a few kilos before then. I'm just struggling so much to get myself in the right headspace - I'm great for 4/5 days then decide that I deserve a reward for being so good and end up destroying all the good I've done. So I need to just keep on trying - off to a good start again today.
