Nothing but the Truth

Interesting title? Bet you all wondered what was coming didn't you.  Actually it's the name of the show we went to see on Saturday night - fantastic night with Joe Camillieri, Grace Knight, Normie Rowe and Frankie J Holden - a trip down memory lane and lots of laughs.  It was a spur of the minute decision on Friday lunchtime.  Friend Shelley popped into my office and were discussing what to do on the weekend - it was our 7th wedding anniversary on Saturday so we wanted to go out somewhere.  Anyway in idle conversation we checked out what was on at the Entertainment Centre and there it was so I hopped on line bought and printed the tickets, booked a pre-theatre meal at the Brasserie and we were all set.

It was a busy and exciting week - Clive came back on Wednesday night so had all the troops over for tea on Wednesday night - Tiff and I had organised a cake for him since he won't be here for his 30th birthday - we took him totally by surprise!!  On Thursday I got an email saying that a submission I had prepared for an industry training award for large employer of the year had made it to the finals - first time I had put one of these together so I'm pretty stoked about that - the finals are this Wednesday so will let you know how we went.  After work on Thursday I had an appointment to get my new ring valued along with a few other bits and pieces - holy hell did I get a shock - my ring is worth double what it cost me already and my other pieces had increased significantly.  Friday night I took Clive into town as he was going out with friends then staying at Grant and Tiff's before flying out again on Saturday morning.  I stopped off at the Indian restaurant and got takeaway for us.  Saturday I 've already talked about and then Sunday night we went out for tea with friends. By the time I got home I had a pain in my lower abdomen and had a rotten night with cramps, nausea and finally the frequent visits to the loo in the early hours of the morning so I had yesterday off work.  Was back today but tummy still making very peculiar noises and generally unsettled.  Seems there's a gastro virus doing the rounds.

So weightwise I'm actually down a further 200g - I got shot of last week's little hiccup and a tad more besides but having to watch very carefully after all that eating out - although had tandoori lamb chops and a smidgin of saffron rice so not too bad.  Had grilled fish and salad on Sat night and chicken mignon with mashed potatoes on Sunday night so nothing too drastic but of course a few wines each night and therein lies the problem as I well know!!  However didn't eat much yesterday with the funny tummy and not that much today either.

Since I started this post I've had a call from my manager to say she's had the OK from our GM for both of us to go to the Industry Training Awards dinner in Brisbane tomorrow night.  She's flying down in the morning for the conference but I'm in the midst of coordinating a 3 day training course and need to be there tomorrow morning so I'm flying down in the afternoon and will join her to go to the dinner then we'll both fly up on Thursday morning - so keep your fingers tightly crossed.

And now a couple of pics

I love my uncle!

Such a cutie this boy!
Now you may remember last October I had a big bargain shopping day and showed you all my off season reductions - this is one of them - this was Saturday night before heading off to the theatre.

And that's this week's news - hope you all have a wonderful one.

Eye off the Ball

Well eye off the ball is probably an understatement - try dropped the bloody thing completely!  I've just been slack - not hugely bad and haven't excercised and then went out a bit on the weekend and so had a few wines and buggar me I was 1.2kgs up on the scales yesterday morning!!!  I know most of that will be fluid as I'd had a fair bit in the way of alcohol on Saturday and not very much water so I made sure I had plenty on Sunday but nonetheless didn't go to the loo that often so must have been quite dehydrated. Anyway I'm back on the case again - been up both mornings so far this week and have done a half hour workout with Personal Trainer on the Wii and been behaving myself.  So hopefully it will disappear again just as quickly as it came.

Had a brilliant weekend - there was a local race meeting on so a group of about 20 of us went there on Saturday and had a ball.  Here's some pictures of all the fun

Dressed up and ready for the off

Is this a good angle?

Fascinating fascinator!

All the women clowning around
Bloss and I.

Tony finished the bathroom this morning and so tonight I put all the bits and pieces in and took a few photos - we're absolutely delighted with the end result and here's a few photos of that
The dunny and then a few view of the bathroom - really hard to get decent views as it's difficult to get far enough back to get a wider view.

And now the before pictures

What else?  Clive arriving home tomorrow night till Saturday - he won't be here for his birthday on 3 June - which is his 30th - so we're having a bit of a birthday tea tomorrow night and Grant Tiff and the boys will be down too.  Always lovely to have them all together.

And thats the news from me - I intend to have a decent loss to write about next week.  Take care possums

So Busy

Life seems to have taken off with a capital T these past couple of weeks - work is absolutely crazy - one of our team has resigned and moved to Brisbane so until someone else is recruited we've shared her work between us, so I feel like I've got about ten different things on the go and I'm doing none of them properly - very frustrating for a Virgo who's a perfectionist!! But the days are flying by and it's almost less than 50 days till we're off.

Our social life has been pretty busy too lately - not that I'm complaining about that - we went to the Hotel California - Eagles Experience with friends last Friday night after having dinner and it was bloody awesome - we had a great night - came out of there and heard some good music from another bar in town so went there for a nightcap and didn't get home till 12.30am! But no headaches for me as I was the driver! Sunday morning was the Mothers Day Classic so we walked in that then the 6 of us headed to a nearby park by the beach to have a BBQ breakfast with a bit of champagne and orange juice. Came home to a beautiful bouquet of flowers which had been delivered from Clive, got a call from Grant, then later a call from Clive and then at night we went out for tea with Tiff and the Boys - all in all a delightful day and one of those where you count your blessings and think how lucky you are to have such a loving and lovely family.

Found a little dog playing chicken with the cars on the way home from breakfast so rescued her - rang around all the usual spots to see if she'd been reported missing but pretty difficult on a Sunday. Then went for a drive round the local streets and spotted a vehicle cruising kind of slowly and yes - it was Mum and the kids out searching for their dog. So happy endings all round. Zanna wasn't too impressed with this little usurper who jumped up on the chairs - something she's most definitely not allowed to do and in fact wouldn't even think of.

Weightwise I've still been pretty well on track but it's just bobbing around at the moment - haven't had too much exercise this week so might try and crank that up next week to get things moving again.  But I did reach my 10 per cent loss on Saturday so that was a nice milestone - mind you since then it's been up and down as much as 500g.

And now a few photos

Bloss and I at dinner on Friday night
The 6 of us ready for the off at the MDC on Sunday
The pink line to mark the turning point if you were walking 4kms
Bloss and I at the BBQ spot
Yummy BBQ and pretty healthy too - if you left the sausages alone - and I did.
This was the little lady we found

Curtis is a real little smoocher - Granny and him having a kiss
Bloss and Curtis puckering up

We're off to the races tomorrow so looking forward to that and then Clive is breezing in on Wednesday night and staying till Saturday so looking forward to that.   And now I'm late for work and must go.  Have a great week possums.

Just checking in!

Sorry folks – been a bit frantic this week and since I haven’t really anything too exciting to say I haven’t worried to much about updating.

Well I enjoyed two glasses of wine on Monday night and another 2 on Tuesday – but had a crappy sleep both nights – one of the side effects wine has on me. So I didn’t have any more till we went down to the beach with friends for a few drinks on Friday night. I had a couple then stopped as I was driving but then Bloss and I got home and I had a couple more. Saturday morning I had a buggar of a headache – that’s what happens when you’re not used to it!!! Saturday night we went out for dinner with a group of friends – I drove so had a solitary glass with my meal and soda the rest of the time. And I haven’t had any since – aren’t I good??

Weight wise I stayed the same – I don’t think I’ve slackened off too much – rather that I’m having a couple of weeks where it seems to consolidate before moving downwards again – so I’ll try and just be patient and keep on doing the right thing.

I’m going to set myself another little challenge on my sidebar and countdown the last 8 weeks till our trip – that’s as of this Monday. Another couple of kilos down would be good!

Busy weekend ahead – going out for dinner then to see the “Eagles Experience” on Friday night with a group of friends then on Sunday morning the same group are all participating in the Mothers Day walk at our local beach then we’re all having a BBQ breakfast.

Grant is going on a boys weekend to Melbourne this weekend – he’d booked it before he realised it clashed with Mothers Day so Tiff and the boys are coming down at night and we’re going to the pub for tea.

And that my little china plates is my news for the week. Hope you all have a good one.
