Big Weekend Behind and In Front

Its been a busy couple of weeks and the weekend just gone was huge. Friday night was my graduation and I'm proud to say that I now hold a Diploma of Business (Frontline Management). It was a great course, with a top bunch of people and an absolutely awesome facilitator and it really wasn't a chore for me - more a journey of self discovery and learning. Well you all know I enjoy travelling!!

Then Saturday night was a surprise 60th for a friend of ours. Another good night - changed my look from the demure graduate of the previous to a bit of a wilder look!

This one below was taken on Friday night and shows two of the women I work with in my new role - the one in the middle is a delightful wild child who actually went to school with my sons - we didn't discover that till very recently. She is an organiser like me so we work well together. The one on the right is our manager - Ive known her for quite a while and we've been scheming for a number of years for me to work with her - and now its all come together and I'm loving it.

Then of course weekend before last we had the big scare and lots of preparation as Cyclone Hamish was bearing down on us. Ive been lucky enough not to have had experienced a cyclone since I came to Queensland but this one was awfully close and rated a 5 which is pretty terrifying. However in the unpredictable way that cyclones often behave, he carried on down the coast and fizzled out. Hallelujah!!

On the weight and exercise front - not a lot to report - but at least nothing bad. Fell down the stairs about two weeks ago - long story but I was holding on to the dog (so she didn't clean up my DinL who was carrying a glass of coke) but my foot slipped off the step - I landed on my bum but the dog was on a mission to get downstairs to join the kids so I bumped down a few more steps, banged my head, arm and sent a pot plant flying!! Had a lot of aches for a few days but seem to have been left with a sore back still. Couldn't think of exercise for a week or so and this week have had too much on but realistically think that some exercise is what I need.

And now on to this weekend - HUGE girls weekend ahead - Shaz, Ruthie and I are off to Melbourne. Back in November I picked up some really cheap flights with Tiger from Rockhampton to Melbourne - even with luggage add on and credit card charges, we are flying from Rocky to Melbourne and back for $74 each. Our friend Ruthie is flying from Brisbane to join us and were staying at the Quest on William. We arrive mid afternoon Thursday and fly out again mid arvo Saturday. No definite plans - other than shopping on Friday, trying to catch up with a couple of friends. Might take in a show on Friday night if there is anything good on - open to recommendations. Its a bit of a whistle stop tour but if any of you Melbournites would like to catch up briefly for a coffee (or a chardonnay) leave me a comment or email me - the address is in my profile and well see if something can be arranged.

Hope all is well in everyones world - sorry haven't had much time to comment or catch up but thinking of you all.

Love Z xx

Catch up

Realised that I hadn't posted for two weeks and I should get my A into G and update. Alls well in my world apart from a slight altercation with a packet of Rolos on Friday night! I'm still zoning along most of them time - I'm now at 3.1 on my count to ten. It was a bit slow there for a few weeks as I faffed around getting back down to it but I think I'm on the move again now. The Rolos? - well there is always a treat in the fridge for my two grandsons - usually either Rolos or the packets of Cadbury choc pastilles. And normally even though I know they are there I leave them alone. But Friday night they just wouldn't shut up and kept calling me - so in the end I shut them up!!!..... by eating them. But asides from that Ive been pretty good - had a few wines on the weekend but nothing during the week. Exercise hasn't been as good as it could be - I got to the gym last Monday, but was sick on Tuesday, then Wednesday and Thursday I was at other sites so no time to go to the gym and by Friday I was just too knackered. But a new week beckons. What else? It was Bloss birthday on Friday - as part of his present I got him Mario Karts for the Wii - gosh its hilarious fun. Last night I took him out for tea to the Indian restaurant in town - we had heard good things about it but had never been. Lovely meal - we will definitely be back. I was at the hairdresser the other night - had got fed up with my hair the length it was so got a bit chopped off at the back - really happy with it. Pic below.

No 2 son has been back in Brazil for a couple of weeks to see his girlfriend but I think he arrives back in Oz sometime this week - and I suspect he will pitch up here so will be nice to have him around although probably not for very long as I think hes got another overseas job lined up. No 1 son and family are all coming for tea tonight so can just imagine the hilarity as they all play Mario Karts!

Been doing a bit of thinking about our next holiday - not sure what we should do - Bloss looks like being tied up with some commissioning for the project hes on for a good few months so the question is whether we go before then or wait till after. Thinking we might go before - which would be the end of June. Where to? It will be somewhere in Asia I think as it will be for only about 10 days. Some good deals around where you can visit two destinations pretty cheaply - see Asia 2 in 1 Getaways - we've used this company before and they have really good prices. Brunei and Kuala Lumpur might be fun! Oh I just love this planning and researching stage!! Still enjoying Biggest Loser - only ones really bugging me at the moment are Holly and Mel - particularly Holly - just want to pick her up and give her a good shake!! And isn't Bob just the nicest man imaginable. Ok that's it from me - hope good things are happening in all your lives. Take care Love Z xx
