Ouch!

Yes I'm a bit of a walking wounded today.
It all started last night - I wasn't very hungry as I was very tired - didn't sleep well on Sunday night. So I told Bloss he could have left overs from tea the night before and I'd just have a plate of chicken broth. He was busy in the study so I heated up a bowl of soup in the microwave - piping hot - just the way I like it then sat down in the lounge room chair - watching Master Chef - and promptly tipped it all over my legs. I leapt up, dropped the plate and dragged off my gym pants and knickers and raced to the shower - it was really burning. I stood in the shower for about 10 minutes and got Bloss to call my friend Shaz who is a nurse to see what I should do next - I had huge red burns on both thighs and on one shin. She said that I should sit for about an hour with constantly cool damp towels over the burned area to hopefully prevent blistering and then ring her to report. However about half an hour after that, she turned up having been to work to get some supplies and dressed my leg. What a wonderful friend! The left one had calmed down with the cold water treatment but the right was bloody hot by this time. I doped myself up with some panadene and evenutally managed to sleep and it was much better this morning but still pretty uncomfortable. I didn't go to work but can log on remotely so worked on and off from home. Shaz said I should have a shower and take off the dressingd this afternoon and ring her and tell her how it looked. It was still very red and showing signs of blistering in a couple of spots so she advised me to get my doctor to take a look at it. They managed to squeeze me in at the surgery this afternoon and all is well and the nurse there has dressed it again. But it's still damn sore. That will teach me to sit at the new dining room table and not eat on my lap watching telly!!!
Take care possums and sit up properly when you have your tea!

Too Lazy to Write a Post!

Didn't think the photos I posted of my chocolate foils were that good so after washing my hair today I've had another try.

And now some flowers - I love fresh flowers - Bloss often buys me some for special occasions but each week I buy some when I go shopping - below are the tulips I got last night - so bright and cheerful
And these are the lilies (my absolute favourite flower) I got last week - all the buds were closed but they've opened up beautifully
And this was another little bargain I picked up - just can't help myself!!! This vase had been $49.95 but was on sale for $20 - so as Bloss would say I couldn't afford not to buy it!!

All on my own tonight and loving it. Bloss has gone out with his boss (who used to be my boss) on his boat. They've gone out to the Reef (Great Barrier Reef) to Lady Musgrave Island on a fishing trip and staying out there overnight - about ten of them on two boats. Probably be a lot of headaches and achy bones tomorrow!!!
Have a good week possums

Photo Post

I've been a bit slack this week - didn't have that much to say so didn't bother doing an update.  But just to keep my hand in here are a couple of photos.  Finally got the new hair colour so have shown you a before and after.  I like the way it was but I just get fed up looking the same so need to have a wee change!!
This was Saturday night on our way out to a BBQ with friends
This was Monday night after getting some dark chocolate foils across the front and side.  Actually the lighting in these two is a bit harsh and doesn't really do it justice.  I'll try and do some more soon.
These are all taken at arms length by me - I think I always tend to have a bit of a 'glazed' look when I'm self portraiting!!
Now the other piece of news is that last weekend when I was getting a stone chip in my windscreen repaired - detour for a moment while I tell that story.  Have been going to the same place for the last 15 years - not that often mind you - but the manager does know me a bit.  Anyway took the car in - saw one of the techs who said $110 to repair - thought to myself - gee it's gone up over the years but still a lot cheaper than a new windscreen.  Went off and did some shopping (more about that in a minute).  When I came back I saw the manager who told me my car was ready - took me to the workshop to see the handiwork then said I'd been a good customer and he hoped I'd continue to be and that I'd pass the word along about how good they were and that there was no charge for today's repair.  How good was that!!
Now while I went shopping - or actually window shopping really - I spotted a really nice dining table and chairs - ours was about 20 years old and too small and starting to fall apart.  But I wasn't sure if it would fit in our dining area so got them to measure it.  It had been $1760 and was reduced to $1160 so a bit of a bargain.  Anyway did the measuring at home and yes it would fit so on Tuesday night on my way home from work I called in again and had another look at it.  I said that I would just run it past the 'big fella' but that I really liked it - and because I'm Scottish and can't help myself - I just asked if this was the very best price they could do.  He said hang on and I'll check - I'm thinking if I got maybe another $60 off that would be great.  He comes back and says we can do it for $1,000 and delivery is free.  So guess who's got a new dining room table and chairs!!!  It lookf absolutely brilliant - see for yourself.......

Take care lovelies
