So on Saturday Shaz and I headed off to Rockhampton to give the new car a bit of a run. A friend of ours has a shop there which has all sorts of wonderful homewares, but for a whole swag of reasons the business will be closing down shortly so she arranged for us to get a brilliant discount on anything we were interested in. Well I mean I couldn't afford not to- could I????
This painting is approximately 4ft tall by 3ft wide (not very good at thinking metric) and up inside the triangular vase shape at the bottom is a light. It is absoutely awesome and will look superb in our entrance hall - especially once we get all the new tiles laid. Some of you may remember that I bought a painting in Hong Kong last year and have it in the entry hall - but it isn't really big enough or dramatic enough to make an impact. But this little baby certainly will. I'll post another picture once I finally get it up on the wall but won't do that till after the tiling is done. Think I might have mentioned in a previous post that we'd had a flood downstairs but we were planning to tile that area anyway. After a bit of faffing around we got a store credit from the insurance company as they were going to replace the carpet. Instead we've chosen terracotta tiles and are doing the downstairs bathroom, the games room, entrance hall and the laundry. I've ordered the tiles, booked the tiler and hopefully it will start in about 3 weeks time. Have also had a quote for new vertical blinds for that room too.
Then I saw this little tile painting which I thought would be just right for a corner in the kitchen.
I've been pretty half arsed on the eating/drinking for the past couple of weeks - four great days then three pretty ordinary days. Not too bad on the food front but having a few wines of an evening on the weekends. So this has meant absolutely no progress on the weightloss front. It's starting to get to me - I still weigh the same as I did when I got back from UK in January - which is about 4/5 kgs heavier than when I was feeling quite sylph like when we went to Hong Kong. I've only got 6 weeks till we leave for Vietnam so I'm going to really try to get focussed and shed a few kilos before then. I'm just struggling so much to get myself in the right headspace - I'm great for 4/5 days then decide that I deserve a reward for being so good and end up destroying all the good I've done. So I need to just keep on trying - off to a good start again today.
So watch this space for a report of some clever things next week. Hope all is well in all of your worlds
Love Z xx

I absolutely love the art-work. I especially love the red one. The car is pretty spiffy as well.

Totally awesome art, car etc! Well done, you have amazing taste.
Love the art. It will look stunning! Also love the car.
I'm like you - a bit slack with eating/drinking lately. Mojo gone again:-(
Love the jogger. I don't think I could go back to driving a car again. I love my 4WD. The jogger is very classy, just like you.
You have amazing taste in artwork and it's going to fit in perfectly with your new tiles.
I'll have you know I've been exceptionally good with my sauv blanc of late. Apart from last wks trip to Napier I've been a pure angel. I just hope my halo doesn't slip and choke me around the neck.
You and the BC have a great week.
nice car and great art work
Very striking art work. I take it that you have a very modern house. What fun to spend so much money...
Oh Wow! What fantastic purchases. Love them all - including the car!
I know what you mean about shedding the extra kilos that creep on. It is so much harder than the first time. Good luck getting rid of at least a couple before you go xx
I love your purchases... right up my alley..
I know what you mean aboutt he weight issues... grrrr I have been up and down on the same couple of kilos for about 10 months!!
Oh I love the new wheels too...

I've always thought leasing cars is a great idea! I need to work somewhere that will let me do that too. I recently applied for a job somewhere that do have benefits like that...but I didn't get an interview. Lovely jogger you have there btw! :-)
I really like the art work (and your new blog look by the way --I'm constantly looking for skins to freshen up, I can waste so much time doing that)!
I do hope you get back to your comfortable weight.. I can sure relate to undoing good work. You're a determined & clever lady.. I know you can do it! How exciting about Vietnam coming up.. not too far away. I'd love to hear about the food especially when you get back! :-)
