Yes I've been on a bit of a spending spree this past week. It started on Wednesday last week when I took delivery of my new car - see below. I lease my car through our company salary packaging scheme and the lease for my previous car was up this month so I decided to replace it with another new one. So here we have the latest model Rav4 - I loved my last one. This one is fantastic too - but much bigger - they've increased the overall size by 20 per cent and it's gone from being a couple car to being a real family car - not that I need one of them but it is good when friends and family come to stay or when my grandsons are here. Bloss used to refer to my last Rav as 'a good little jigger' so it was commonly referred to as 'the jigger'. I think since this one is a bit bigger it might become 'the jogger'.
Here she is - The Jogger
So on Saturday Shaz and I headed off to Rockhampton to give the new car a bit of a run. A friend of ours has a shop there which has all sorts of wonderful homewares, but for a whole swag of reasons the business will be closing down shortly so she arranged for us to get a brilliant discount on anything we were interested in. Well I mean I couldn't afford not to- could I????
This painting is approximately 4ft tall by 3ft wide (not very good at thinking metric) and up inside the triangular vase shape at the bottom is a light. It is absoutely awesome and will look superb in our entrance hall - especially once we get all the new tiles laid. Some of you may remember that I bought a painting in Hong Kong last year and have it in the entry hall - but it isn't really big enough or dramatic enough to make an impact. But this little baby certainly will. I'll post another picture once I finally get it up on the wall but won't do that till after the tiling is done. Think I might have mentioned in a previous post that we'd had a flood downstairs but we were planning to tile that area anyway. After a bit of faffing around we got a store credit from the insurance company as they were going to replace the carpet. Instead we've chosen terracotta tiles and are doing the downstairs bathroom, the games room, entrance hall and the laundry. I've ordered the tiles, booked the tiler and hopefully it will start in about 3 weeks time. Have also had a quote for new vertical blinds for that room too.
I just loved this wall sculpture and the plan is for it to go up in the downstairs room once all the renovations are complete. It's a reasonable size too - about 18 ins by 3ft.
Then I saw this little tile painting which I thought would be just right for a corner in the kitchen.
I've been pretty half arsed on the eating/drinking for the past couple of weeks - four great days then three pretty ordinary days. Not too bad on the food front but having a few wines of an evening on the weekends. So this has meant absolutely no progress on the weightloss front. It's starting to get to me - I still weigh the same as I did when I got back from UK in January - which is about 4/5 kgs heavier than when I was feeling quite sylph like when we went to Hong Kong. I've only got 6 weeks till we leave for Vietnam so I'm going to really try to get focussed and shed a few kilos before then. I'm just struggling so much to get myself in the right headspace - I'm great for 4/5 days then decide that I deserve a reward for being so good and end up destroying all the good I've done. So I need to just keep on trying - off to a good start again today.
So watch this space for a report of some clever things next week. Hope all is well in all of your worlds
Love Z xx
