Operation Noah - Day 8

So 7 days in and how have I gone? Pretty darn good I'd say. I've posted my chart for this week below. As you can see there is room for improvement in the exercise column. You may remember that last week I blamed the heat for me struggling to exercise. Well in true Noah style it actually turned out to be the rain which was the problem. We had heaps of rain here last week (fortunately not like Mackay) but nonetheless we had over 400mm (16inches) in three days. And even yesterday although dry in the morning was raining heavily by the afternoon. So I've managed a few walks but hopefully will get more next week. Now the alcohol - well I made a definite decision that I was going to allow myself a few on the weekend - don't feel quite so deprived then. However I made sure I measured, pointed and tracked. So they're all in there in the 18 points and tracking pictures! And furthermore I still haven't stood on the scales - hid them under the spare room bed so I wouldn't be tempted! Don't think I feel any real difference size wise yet although maybe the'muffin' is softer!

So what else is new chez Zanna? Well Bloss and I have been promising ourselves for a while now that we would upgrade to a jumbo TV - we didn't get each other much for Christmas as we knew this was in the pipeline. So today was the day. I'd done a bit of research yesterday at the shops, then we both popped into good old Harvey Norman yesterday arv, but they were just about to close. Anyway we came home and did some more research and thinking and went back this morning and spent squillions of dollars (at least that's what it seems like).

This is a 50inch plasma TV with built in tuner and 250gb hard drive .....

and below we have a DVD Lifestyle System - with of course DVD, speakers, sub woofer etc including wireless rear speakers (much better than having to worry about all those cables round the place)

It's being delivered tomorrow afternoon so once we have it all set up I'll take a picture off how it looks in our lounge room. As well as the above we also bought a black glass unit to sit it all on.

Other exciting news is that No 2 son, the one who wanders - no seriously the one who seems to have inherited his mother's travel bug, returns to the fold, arriving this Friday. I haven't seen him for 13 months so needless to say overjoyed that he's coming home even although at this stage he only plans to be here for about 3 weeks of which I think one week may be spent in Melbourne. But I'm just so pleased to see him that any time is good time. At this stage I think he's planning to head back to London again but not sure how long for. He's just finished the contract he had in Malaysia on the offshore rig and there's the possibility of an onshore comissioning contract in Brazil but at the moment he's keeping all the options open. Having earned a ridiculous amount of money in Malaysia he's in no hurry to make up his mind.

Visited the doctor a few weeks ago and got a referral to a specialist to get a varicose vein looked at. He asked me who I wanted to go to and since I had no idea he referred me to a local general surgeon. My friend Shaz who is a nurse told me I should see a vascular surgeon and offered to find me details. She's come back with the name of a guy who is highly recommended but who is in Brisbane. Fortunately we have a brilliant medical scheme through work so will get all my fares reimbursed - either driving down and staying overnight, or flying down and back on the same day. I've got it all teed up and will fly down first thing on April 1st to have a consultation and back up again the same night. Might even manage a spot of retaill therapy while I'm in Brisvegas and I've also a few friends in our head office there who I might try and catch up with too. Then of course I"ll have to go back down for the actual surgery depending on what he proposes. I've had this particular vein for close on 30 years but it's definitely getting uglier - bubbles when I've been on my feet for a while and starting to ache a bit so thought I might as well take advantage of our good medical cover and get it fixed.

Okay dokes folks, that my news for the week. I'm still feeling very focussed so here's to another week with pictures in lots of boxes!

Take care possums
Love Z xx

Well done with your Operation Noah results! I'm just loving that chart!

Happy for you that you'll be seeing your boy. Now where do I get such a job that pays ridiculous amounts of money???!

Also love all that new technology and am looking forward to seeing it all set-up. It will make DVD nights more special won't it? I love couple time infront of a movie at home with nibblies.

That's an impressive chart. I do exactly the same as you with the wine. We both know how I like my sauv blanc and as this journey we are on is a lifestyle change I see no reason not to deprive myself. We all need something to look forward to. I find now I'm only drinking once a week - would do two if I felt like it too.

Exciting stuff being able to catch up with your son after so long. Just in time for him to take advantage of that big screen tv. Enjoy. Big hello to that blogger companion of yours too.

Jezzz I hope Stew does not see that TV ... he is always looking at them and 'hinting' that one that size would be really great! Good luck with the vein, I say go for it and get rid of it, they are awful things... I have a couple but they are not bad enough yet to do anything about. booo hoo.
