Big Weekend Behind and In Front

Its been a busy couple of weeks and the weekend just gone was huge. Friday night was my graduation and I'm proud to say that I now hold a Diploma of Business (Frontline Management). It was a great course, with a top bunch of people and an absolutely awesome facilitator and it really wasn't a chore for me - more a journey of self discovery and learning. Well you all know I enjoy travelling!!

Then Saturday night was a surprise 60th for a friend of ours. Another good night - changed my look from the demure graduate of the previous to a bit of a wilder look!

This one below was taken on Friday night and shows two of the women I work with in my new role - the one in the middle is a delightful wild child who actually went to school with my sons - we didn't discover that till very recently. She is an organiser like me so we work well together. The one on the right is our manager - Ive known her for quite a while and we've been scheming for a number of years for me to work with her - and now its all come together and I'm loving it.

Then of course weekend before last we had the big scare and lots of preparation as Cyclone Hamish was bearing down on us. Ive been lucky enough not to have had experienced a cyclone since I came to Queensland but this one was awfully close and rated a 5 which is pretty terrifying. However in the unpredictable way that cyclones often behave, he carried on down the coast and fizzled out. Hallelujah!!

On the weight and exercise front - not a lot to report - but at least nothing bad. Fell down the stairs about two weeks ago - long story but I was holding on to the dog (so she didn't clean up my DinL who was carrying a glass of coke) but my foot slipped off the step - I landed on my bum but the dog was on a mission to get downstairs to join the kids so I bumped down a few more steps, banged my head, arm and sent a pot plant flying!! Had a lot of aches for a few days but seem to have been left with a sore back still. Couldn't think of exercise for a week or so and this week have had too much on but realistically think that some exercise is what I need.

And now on to this weekend - HUGE girls weekend ahead - Shaz, Ruthie and I are off to Melbourne. Back in November I picked up some really cheap flights with Tiger from Rockhampton to Melbourne - even with luggage add on and credit card charges, we are flying from Rocky to Melbourne and back for $74 each. Our friend Ruthie is flying from Brisbane to join us and were staying at the Quest on William. We arrive mid afternoon Thursday and fly out again mid arvo Saturday. No definite plans - other than shopping on Friday, trying to catch up with a couple of friends. Might take in a show on Friday night if there is anything good on - open to recommendations. Its a bit of a whistle stop tour but if any of you Melbournites would like to catch up briefly for a coffee (or a chardonnay) leave me a comment or email me - the address is in my profile and well see if something can be arranged.

Hope all is well in everyones world - sorry haven't had much time to comment or catch up but thinking of you all.

Love Z xx
